eastern_cape_coat_of_arms.jpgEastern Cape - Lady Grey.

Lady Grey in the Eastern Cape offers spectacular scenery.
Lady Grey is tucked away in the Eastern Cape in a valley below the awesome Witterberg mountain range.
This town and the area is rich in sandstone, fossil beds and rock or san art.

Lady Grey was founded in 1856. The Lady Grey Dam was built in 1925 by a Mr. Stromsoe of Cape Town. The wall is 25m high and this area is often used for picnics, and you can swim in the rock pool below the dam. You can walk up a natural staircase to the top of the Lady Grey dam wall.
Lady Grey was named after Cape Governor Sir George Greys wife Lady Eliza Spencer.

It's 800km of astonishing and exotic Indian Ocean coastline is one of the main attractions that this province has on offer. It stretches from the Tsitsikamma national park along the golden sunshine coast, through St.Francis bay, Jeffreys Bay and Algoa bay, up to the Wild coast and south eastern coast to Port Edward.

Long stretches of wide open golden beaches, secluded lagoons and rocky coves make it  a paradise for surfers riding the perfect wave, anglers reeling in king-size catches and lovers of exotic sun-drenched beach holidays from all over the world.
