Ruggedness begins with a durable one-piece tube construction of 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminium. Vortex subjects the Viper riflescope to demanding factory testing under a force of 1000 G`s - 500 times! Not only is this tough Viper riflescope waterproof, it is highly prized for its purging with Argon gas, targeting corrosian in an unchallenged way.
Argon gas purging

- Does not react chemically with water
- Does not diffuse as quickly as other elements, extending the service life of the optics longer.
